Mary : What is that smell, Anthony? I parked my car in front of your house and I can't seem to shake it.

Anthony : Oh, that would be the growing pile of garbage on the corner. It's pretty disgusting, isn't it?

Mary : Why is there a giant pile of garbage? Can't somebody come and take it away?

Anthony : Normally it gets taken twice a week, but the garbage men are on strike and the city is refusing to even discuss their demands until the mess is cleaned up.

Mary : And I assume the garbage men are refusing to pick up the garbage until their demands are met, right?

Anthony : Exactly. It's kind of a catch-22 situation.

Mary : It seems like the problem has come to a head. Maybe you and your neighbors can get together and hire someone with a pickup truck to haul it to the dump.

Anthony : Yeah, but what happens in two more weeks? That would cost us more than our share of taxes that go to the sanitation department in a year! 

Mary : Well, would you rather live with the smell?

Anthony : I would rather grin and bear it than let some greedy union walk all over me!

Mary : Until the problem is settled, I'm afraid I won't be able to visit you. The smell is unbearable. I'm outta here.

* pile - 더미

* shake - to release something; get away from something ~을 떨쳐 버리다

* grin and bear it - to accept what is going on without complaint 쓴웃음을 지으며 참다

* walk all over someone - to take advantage of someone's weakness ~을 함부로 대하다

I would rather grin and bear it.

나는 쓴웃음을 지으며 참는 게 낫겠어.

I would rather swim with the tide.

I would rather go with the flow.

I would rather just deal with it.
