"How do you like -ing? / How about ~?"

How do you like -ing?와 How about ~?을 우리말로 해석하면 둘 다 '~하는 게 어때요?, ~하는 건 어때요?'가 되어서, 자칫 두 개의 표현이 같은 뜻이라고 생각할 수도 있지만, 사실은 다른 의미를 가진 표현입니다. How do you like -ing?는 이미 그렇게 하고 있는 사람에게 해 보니 어떠냐고 묻는 말이고, How about -ing?는 아직 하지 않은 일을 해 보라고 제안하는 말입니다.
