더블데이트에 대한 얘기를 나누는 테일러와 존

테일러 : 진지한 데이트였어, 아님 그냥 편안한 데이트였어?
존 : 아주 편안한 거. 그냥 카페에서 만난 다른 커플이랑 같이 얘기했지. 
테일러 : 그랬구나. 넌 여자랑 마지막으로 데이트한 게 언제였어?
존 : 2년 전쯤 됐어.

"When was the last time~?"

When was the last time~?은 우리말로 직역하면, '마지막으로 ~한 게 언제예요?, 언제 마지막으로 ~했어요?'정도가 됩니다. 

그런데, 사실 장?, 언제 ~하고 안 한 거예요?' 라고 할 수 있을 겁니다. 자연스러운 우리말 표현은 그대로 구사하면서 맞는 영어 표현을 적절하게 생각해서 쓸 수 있게 기억해 두면 좋겠습니다.
