Randall : Hello, TechSmart customer service, this is Randall speaking. How may I help you?

Suzanne : Hi, Randall, my name is suzanne. The GPS unit I bought from your company is on the blink. It can't seem to find me, if you know what I mean.

Randall : Actually, I don't know what you mean. Could you spell it out for me?

Suzanne : Sure. I'll try. When I turn it on, the GPS unit seems to think I'm somewhere in Spain. Then it asks me if I would like to change the language to Spanish.

Randall : Oh! I see what you mean. Well, there is one thing we can try to fix it. And if this doesn't work, all bets are off. Have you got the unit handy?

Suzanne : Yeah, it's right here. Let me turn it on.  

Randall : Okay, Suzanne. After you power it up you need to get something pointy, like a ballpoint pen. There is a hole in the back labeled "Reset Unit." Push that with your pen.

Suzanne : I found it. Will that invalidate my warranty if I reset the unit?  

Randall : Your warranty will be just fine. So, what does your GPS say now that you pushed the reset button?

Suzanne : It says I'm in Istanbul, Turkey! Pardon my French, but what the heck is going on? 

Randall :I assume from your reaction that you aren't in Turkey. If you send the unit back to us, we can send you a new one, on the double. I'm really sorry about the trouble you've experienced.
