"You should've checked it."
어떤 것을 확인했었어야 했는데 하지 않았을 때, '확인을 하지 그러셨어요, 확인을 했었어야지.'라는 뜻으로 You should've checked it.이라고 말하는데요. should've 뒤에 동사의 p.p.형을 쓰면, '~했어야 했는데 왜 그러지 않았을까' 라고 후회하거나 원망하는 말이 됩니다. 부정문인 shouldn't have p.p.는 '~하지 말았어야 했는데, 이미 해 버렸다'는 뜻이랍니다.
