Let's not pass out candy to trick-or-treaters



Liz : Tim, did you buy the mini chocolate bars like I asked? Don't forget that it's Halloween and the kids will start coming by around 7.

Timothy : Yeah, about that... I decided that we won't pass out candy this year. I think it's a bad tradition that encourages kids to eat candy until they're as full as a tick. 

Liz : Timothy! That is the biggest cock and bull story you've ever told! Anyway I love Halloween with all the costumes and the happy children yelling "Trick or treat!"

Timothy : Fine. To tell the truth, I forgot to get the candy. So why don't we go downstairs to the TV room and watch a scary movie and turn all the lights off? That way, none will be the wiser that we're actually home.

Liz : That is so inconsiderate. Didn't you just hear what I said about loving Halloween?

Timothy : I heard you, but I don't see why it's so important to you. To me, it's just a night for kids to cause trouble and get rewarded for it.

Liz : Didn't you ever go trick-or-treating as a kid?

Timothy : No. My parents were very strict, so it wasn't something I or my sisters ever experienced.

Liz : Ah, Now it's all starting to come together.

Timothy : Don't try to psychoanalyze me over not experiencing Halloween as a kid. I look back on it now as a blessing in disguise. I just don't understand the importance, that's all.

Liz : Well, it is important for me. So if you don't mind, I'm going to drive to the grocery store and see if they have any candy left to give the kids.
