"in the middle of~"

in the middle of~ 는 '어떤 것의 한가운데에 있는' 이라는 말인데요. 이것은 위치를 나타내거나 때를 나타내기도 하고, 대화문에서처럼 어떤 상황의 한가운데에 있는 것을 가리키기도 합니다. 사막 한가운데에 있다면 in the middle of a desert이고, 한밤중이라면 in the middle of the night라고 하죠. 그리고 대화문에서와 같이 가뭄이나 폭우가 한창이어도 in the middle of를 쓸 수 있습니다.
