오늘날 편의점에 대한 개념은 24시간 상점과 같은 뜻을 지닌다. 하지만 세계에서 가장 큰 편의점 회사에서 볼 수 있듯이 항상 그랬던 것은 아니다. 이 편의점은 전 세계적으로 5만개 이상의 점포가 있는데 이는 맥디의 점포수를 뛰어 넘는 것이다. 1927년에 세워진 이 편의점은 텍사스 댈라스에 본사를 두고 있다. 1946년에 브랜드 이름이 토템에서 현재의 이름으로 바꼈다.

Today, the concept of a convenience store is synonymous with a 24-hour store. This has not, however, always been the case as can be seen from the world's largest convenience store operator. This convenience store has more than 50,000 stores around the world, surpassing the number of MCD's stores. Founded in 1927, this convenience store is headquartered in Dallas, Texas. In 1946, the brand name was changed from Totem to its current name.
