볼트는 자메이카의 작은 마을에서 자랐으며 그의 부모는 동네 식료품점을 운영했다. 고등학교 때까지 그는 크리켓 선수가 되고 싶어 했다. 하지만 그의 크리켓 코치는 그에게 육상을 해보라고 종영했다. 그 변화는 결실을 맺었고 볼트는 2008년 2012년 올림픽에서 더블 트리플 금메달을 획득했다. 런던에서 200미터 결승선을 지나자마자 그는 축화하기 위해서 다섯 개의 팔굽혀 펴기를 했다.

Bolt was raised in a small town in Jamaica, and his parents ran a local grocery store. Until high school, he wanted to become a cricket player. However, his cricket coach urged him to try track and field. The change paid off, and Bolt earned double-triple gold medals for the 2008 and 2012 Olympics. Right after crossing the 200 meter finish line in London, he did five push-ups to celebrate.
