Taking "Selfies" in Public

Tom : Alexis, why are you doing that again? Put your phone away. 

Alexis : Oh come on, I'm just taking a selfie to post to my FaceSpace page. 

Tom : Why don't you just ask me to take your picture? Anyway. you've already taken about 20 pictures of yourself today.

Alexis : It isn't a selfie if you take it for me. Then it's just a run-of-the-mill picture. You obviously don't get it.

Tom : I do get it: you're completely into yourself and want the world to know it. Frankly, Alexis, it's a real turn-off for most guys. 

Alexis : What do you mean? Everyone does it. You're here with me, so you aren't too turned off by it. 

Tom : Trust me, I'm really embarrassed for you. When people spend every waking hour taking pictures of themselves and looking at their reflections in every window or mirror they walk by, it's a serious sign of insecurity and low self-esteem.

Alexis : Oh no! Do you think other people are of the same mind as you?

Tom : Yeah! Didn't you see the two guys who were sitting across from us in the cafe?

Alexis : Yeah, they were checking me out the whole time we were in there. I'm surprised you didn't get mad.

Tom : Checking you out? They were laughing at you! You didn't see them shaking their heads and snickering each time you took a selfie?
