Is a Cheap Ticket Worth the Trouble?  저렴한 항공권, 불편을 감수할 가치가 있을까?

[Power Dialog]

I booked our fishing trip. Now, I need to find the best flight to Newfoundland.

I've been scoping out the discount sites and found a flight via Hong Kong, Vancouver, and Toronto.

Let's weigh the pros and cons: We'll save $200, but spend 34 hours getting there. Is it worth it?

We shouldn't skimp on our flight just to end up exhausted.

Plus, our trip will be three days shorter because of the extra flights.

There must be a middle ground. Start with the shortest duration and scroll down.

I found one! A little more money, but half the time.

[Power Note]

1. scope something out - to look at something to get information

A: So, did you decide where you're going to propose to Maggie?

B: Yeah, I've been scoping out romantic spots around the city and found a great one.

* We scoped out the best place on the floor to see the band before the condert.

2. skimp on something - to be stingy or frugal with something

A: If you want to impress a woman, you can't skimp on the quality of your toilet paper.

B: Toilet paper? I thought you were going to suggest a nice bottle of wine.

* Even when we were poor, my mother never skimped on fruits and vegetables.

3. middle ground - a point of compromise

A: It's obvious you aren't going to give us what we want.

B: Well, you're going to have to agree on a middle ground that we can both live with.

* In hopes of finding a middle ground, the seller lowered his price a little.
