Why is the neighbor kid raking our yard?

Mick : Betty, what's Timmy Rogers doing in our yard with a rake?

Betty : Well, it looks like he's raking the leaves that fell off our trees. Why do you ask?

Mick : Because I've told you several times that I'm going to go out and take care of it when I have time. Can you go and send him home, please?

Betty : Mick, you know good and well that you aren't going to rake the leaves until next spring and then you'll complain that our lawn is dead. Just like last year and the year before.

Mick : Last year I had back problems - you probably should've called Timmy then.

Betty : I did suggest calling Timmy last year. You said you just needed a few aspirin and some rest and that you would get out and do it. What's with you and the yard work?

Mick : It's a matter of pride, Betty. A man's yard is an extension of his castle. And I don't need some kid to tend to my castle grounds.

Betty : Now you're being melodramatic! Did I happen to mention he's doing it for free? He felt bad about not offering to do it last year when you were injured. 

Mick : Free? Well, that's a different story. I guess if he does a half-decent job, I can always get out there and fix his mess.

Betty : Look, he's done with the back yard and he hasn't missed a single leaf. He's even raked the mess out from under the back deck. There's no way you could've done that.

Mick : Hmm.. Maybe I should take him a Coke and thank him for his hard work.
