상대방이 했던 말을 내가 제대로 듣고 이해하고 있는 게 맞는지 확인할 때 이 패턴을 써서 물어보세요.


I thought you said you don't like Valentine's Day.

I thought you said you were sick.

I thought you said you'd be home by midnight.


2. That's what I was hoping ~  그게 바로 내가 ~하길 바랐던 거야


어떤 말이나 행동 등이 내가 바라고 있던 것일 때 이 패턴을 쓸 수 있습니다. hoping 뒤에 '주어+동사'를 써도 되고, 'to+동사원형'이 들어가도 됩니다.
