I was just reading an article about how robotics and automation are going to cost the economy thousands of jobs.
Yeah, I have a friend who worked in customer service and lost her job to online live "chat bots." They're programmed to answer customer questions and deal with complaints.
Pretty much all low-skilled jobs will be gone. Fast food restaurants are already adding automation.
Lucky for me I'm a school teacher. My job isn't going away any time soon.
Don't hold your breath. A Korean company made a robot that teaches English.
Yikes! Nobody is safe. And you're definitely going to have to learn a new skill.
Yeah, working on an assembly line doesn't give me a lot of hope in the long term.
