How Do You Relieve Stress?  어떻게 스트레스를 푸세요?

[Power Dialog]

Hey! What smells so good?

I'm making bread. I've done three loaves so far and will make some focaccia next.

What's gotten into you? You haven't baked in ages.

Well, I was really stressed this week and thought the smell of fresh baked bread, cookies, and cake would take a weight off my mind.

Not to mention kneading the dough and rolling it out.

Yeah, I can take my frustrations out on the dough.

I can tell you that it's working for me just being in here with you. Can we make chocolate chip cookies next?

[Power Note]

1. What's gotten into someone? - Why is someone acting that way?

A: I can't believe Lauren snapped at me like that.

B: That was weird. What's gotten into her?

* You didn't show up to our date night. What's gotten into you?

2. a weight off one's mind - a feeling of relief

A: Did you hear the company decided against the merger?

B: That's a weight off my mind. I think we would have lost our jobs if they did.

* Knowing that my blood tests were negative was a weight off my mind.

3. take one's frustrations out on something - to release one's stress on something

A: I've been avoiding Tom. His attitude has gotten out of hand.

B: Yeah, he's been taking his frustrations out on the rest of the team lately.

* I like to take my frustrations out on my punching bag.
